NSA’s Past President Dave Cannistraro’s Farewell Message

It is hard to believe it’s been two years already since our conference in Austin, when I stepped into the role of President of NSA.  And even harder to believe it’s been nearly 10 years since I attended my first NSA conference in Baltimore.

It’s been an experience that’s been both memorable and rewarding.  I have always looked forward to NSA conferences as a great opportunitiy to connect with colleagues from around the country, hear about issues and trends in other regions, and take the pulse of our industry, so to speak.  I always go back to my business and our local association with valuable information, insights and new ideas.  And this year was no exception.

It was a pleasure to see and talk with so many of you at the NSA’s Spring Conference at Riverwalk Tampa.   As expected it was exceptional in both the range of programming and the caliber of our speakers, who are top in their field – Jon Hockman and Robert Harris in association governance, and Ricky Locke in insurance risk management.  And our attendance this year was our best yet.

It has been my privilege to serve as President of this dynamic association for the past two years.  Together, we’ve made progress along our path to growth and long term success.  We have welcomed new members – Central Texas Subcontractors Association and ASA Metro Wasington; re-branded our magazine, NSA Today; launched a new website; and most important of all, implemented a successful Sponsorship program that allow our business partners to support NSA and our collective efforts to better the industry.

Thank you for the opportunity to serve our association that deserves to grow and prosper; and I am confident it will continue to.

In passing the baton to my successor, Tom McIndoe from Northeastern Subcontractors Association (NESCA) I look forward to seeing even greater changes for NSA in the next 10 years and seeing everyone at our 2018 Spring Conference in Tuscon Arizona!
